CAROLINA ROCCO was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on june 4th, 1973, degree in Architecture obtained in 1996 from Mackenzie University, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Conceiving solutions and ideas came along with my growth.
Today Architecture is my artwork; is the main subject of my reading and studies; guide of my trips; my object of admiration, the content within my everyday and personal achievements.
The first thoughts and main sketches of a Project, I base in my personal and my professional experience, in technical and cultural knowledge acquired in those most necessary research studies allowing, through the process, some significant room to intuition.
Time dedicated to creation is almost meditative.
The urban cities inspire me. And so does the Sea. Music and dance have always been great sources.
How to fill the void?
Each project, each stage to the completion are stages of my professional evolution.
Since the conceiving of the main idea to its development, from exchanging thought with clients to the improvement and detail, are all essential.
Among elements which make up an architectural artwork: structure, volumetric, materials and textures have supporting roles between light and shadow, the filled spaces and the empty ones.
Thus, I see Architecture as “materialized thoughts”; joining Art and Physics.
Portrait of a time, Architecture should represent that historical moment, as a reflection of a society.
Architecture exists for the Sun, for rain and wind, topography and vegetation- either the absence or excess.
Architecture is, mainly, built for our lives, for human relationships and movements.
Due to my respect for human beings and my great admiration for nature, I am Architect.
